Summary

  • Recommend 4-8 escape artists
  • Cool immersive experience as it use to a be a hotel
  • VERY challenging puzzles
  • Great interactions with GM
  • Not good for beginners
  • Need a strong team to escape

From waiting outside, our group went into a small, dark lobby. This escape room was held at the bottom of a former Mayfield Hotel. Our game master, William, did a really good job in telling us the story and freaking out most of our group members before we even began. We then moved into another room which looked like a large hotel room.

The room felt VERY multi-linear and I appeared to be lost with the abundance of clues we had. This made it fun for us as we loved trying to tie things together. There were both concrete puzzles as well as very difficult puzzles. It was very easy to overthink the simple puzzles. You really need a strong team in abstract and concrete thinking for this escape room. It was amazing to see that our first time escape artists were very strong thinkers and teammates.

This room was not that scary, just very creepy. Our game master contributed to the scary/creepy mood. The creepy dolls were a good addition to the game.

Overall, this escape room is a fun experience when you have a strong group of escape artists who think, process, and work well together.
