The great King Arthur who once wielded the mighty sword known as Excalibur, brought together his loyal knights to determine what would become of the ancient blade. They had grown old and tired and it would soon be time to find a champion worthy enough to wield Excalibur. First Impressions

This is MindTrap’s long-awaited 3rd escape room! We previously played their other rooms: Gold Rush and Conspiracy Theory. Our favorite out of the two was Gold Rush due to it’s immersiveness, production value and great fun factor. One important thing to note is that Excalibur is located in their new Murrieta location just north of their Temecula one.

The escape room owners, Nathan, Emma and Moose, met us upon arrival and were very accommodating individuals. We love passionate escape room owners! They made our experience enjoyable!

Puzzles

The puzzle flow was multi-linear. Although the puzzles in the rooms were one’s we’ve seen before, it was still fun to complete. The puzzles were on the easy side and very family friendly. What amazed our group was how high-quality these puzzles were. These puzzles were made with beautiful custom-made wood and other materials. There were also tons of technology used in this escape room and it really enhanced the escape experience.

Like Gold Rush, the ending for this room was very creative and I just loved sitting on the little bench to see things unfold. I do not want to spoil anything for those who want to try this room. Just know the ending is dope!

Immersion

The highlight of this escape room was the immersiveness. Along with the high-quality puzzles, the environment was also high-quality. The smell, flooring, furniture, walls and atmosphere helped immerse us during the times of King Arthur and Excalibur. We appreciate how MindTrap added these fine details to this escape room. My group also enjoyed the how spacious the room was. There was significant space for us roam around without bumping into each other. Even with the space, I recommend 4-5 escape artists for an optimal experience.

Value

This escape room is suitable for all escape room artists especially families with children. The immersion of this escape room is worth the price alone. Super cool!

Should you play it?

Yes! Go to see how high-quality immersion and a creative ending looks like. I would totally recommend this room if you’re in the Murrieta/Temecula area as Excalibur is certainly a gem.
