Summary

  • Recommend 4 escape artists

  • Pirates of the Caribbean theme!

  • Great puzzles and immersion!

First Impressions

As we arrived to Helsinki, it was nice and convenient to find an escape room near one of our tour bus stops. After exploring the city, getting coffee and going through a little market in the city, we headed toward the escape room. At the escape room, we met two GMs, Dimitri and Katarina. They were both friendly, funny, and hospitable. They did very well when setting us up with our escape room experience.

Puzzles

The puzzles were fixed of riddles and hands-on contraptions. The puzzles were easy but still challenging. Looking in hindsight, I felt like the puzzles had a Maze Room LA feel. What I mean is that Maze Room LA puzzles are very abstract and can be very difficult to solve. In comparison, 60Out is known to be very straight up with their puzzles/answers.

Another thing I noticed about European escape rooms is that it seems like licensing for movie themes are not really strict. This escape room has so much references to Pirates of the Caribbean! There’s a over-sized Davy Jones puzzle. How do they do that? I know that in the USA, there would be a lot of issues for licensing/copyrighting.

Immersion

This escape room was well-built and felt like a pirate ship. The immersion was pretty spot on and I have no complaints. It was fun feeling like I was on a pirate ship. #littlekiddreams

Value

It’s pretty pricey for a 2-3 people but a better price for 4-5 people. 5 is the max. You could always ask the GM if there’s any promotions or discounts to help with the cost.

Should you play it?

Yeah! Immersion, puzzles and escape experience overall was very good! Play the Finnish version of Pirates of the Caribbean! If you enjoy horror themes, I recommend you do their Saw themed escape room called, “Trapped”. I was able to preview the room and the immersion looked NUTS! It looked like the iconic saw room those two guys trapped in the first Saw movie.
