Summary
First Impressions
This escape room kicks off our Europe Escape Room Tour. Amber, Desiree and I had the opportunity to go on a cruise around the Baltic Sea. One of the first cities we journeyed through on our trip was Tallinn in the country of Estonia. We were previously in Warnemunde and Rostock both in Germany but we didn't have time to do an escape room there. We made sure we had time to do one in Tallinn! Get Away Zone was on the second floor of a building and the GM was friendly Russian, Vlad. He told us to take off our shoes and provided us Crocs to wear. I've never worn or owned a pair of Crocs so this experience was already different for me. LOL.
Puzzles
Considering this was the first European escape room, I didn't know what to expect. The style of puzzles and flow was different from anything I have experienced before. All the puzzles were clever, challenging and simple. Each puzzle was intricate in a simplistic way. I really enjoyed how the ending could be reached in two ways.
Immersion
The escape room initially feels low budget escape room but it felt like a part of the game. The second room looked pretty good as a KGB office. With zero expectations going into this escape room, I felt the immersion was good. Nothing over-the-top. The room was good and well-built.
Value
For ~$25 per person. Uh. Great value!
Should you play it?
If you find yourself in Tallinn, Estonia I would suggest doing this escape room. We were able to also see their other escape room, "The Conjuring". If scary escape rooms are your thing, "The Conjuring" escape room seemed to be the better escape room with all the horror elements.
