The Ghost of Mentryville
Introduction:
The Ghost of Mentryville is an interactive ghost story that blends aspects of immersive theater and escape rooms. Expect to be solving plenty of puzzles and interacting with a character to move forward in the game. This game does not have a time limit. We expect the games to last between 60 and 90 minutes, depending how quickly the group solves puzzles. Every group will reach the ending of this game, and fully experience everything. We hope that players choose to take their time and enjoy the game rather than rush through it.

First Impressions
This was our last escape room we had to do to complete the trio of rooms at Arcane Escape Rooms. Other than having an actor, what intrigued us the most was the fact that it wasn’t really an escape room. It sounded like a production and you’re there for the whole ride.
Puzzles
The puzzles were very good due to the very vintage and unique locks used. Loved how the puzzles set you up for the story.
Immersion
The immersion was great! The actor did a really good job acting as well as immersing the group into the story. My group is usually silly especially in scary escape rooms and the actor ALMOST broke character but he didn’t. I loved interacting with the actor.
Considering that I was use to going super fast in escape rooms, it was difficult for me to slow down and enjoy the story in this room. I had to remind myself to take my time and listen. Essentially, this room made me use my mindfulness skills to enjoy the moment. lol. Looking back, it was a very unique experience and a good date night idea. The scary factor is not too much, it’s more creepy than anything.
Value
Super good value if you’re down to experience a unique twist to an escape room.
Should you play it?
Yes! If you’re looking for a tradition escape room (ie. Getting out before the time runs out). Don’t do this. Only play this room if you are open to an experience where it’s story/actor driven and chill. I certainly enjoyed this room a lot due to it’s uniqueness. It’s one of my favorites!
