Chapter 3: The Morgue

Chapter 3: The Morgue

YOU ENTER THE MORGUE, WHICH HAS OBVIOUSLY BEEN ABANDONED FOR SOME TIME. IVY CRAWLS ALONG THE WALLS, THE PIPES DRIP, LEAVES AND DEAD BUGS LITTER THE FLOOR. AND THAT SMELL. YOU WAIT IN THE DARK KNOWING THAT THERE IS SOMETHING, OR MAYBE SOMEONE, OUT THERE. YOUR FINAL TEST…

First Impressions

Amber and I have always been fan of this escape room company because of both their immersive escape rooms and the GMs, Patrick and Jackie. Like I said before, GMs are the forefront of providing a positive escape experience and the GMs do it very well through their genuine friendliness. In addition, Patrick and Jackie are very passionate and possess a forward-way of thinking when it comes to their escape room craft.

About a year ago, Patrick and Jackie told Amber and I about the structure of this escape room which really intrigued me. Your group starts off with 30 minutes (now changed to 40 minutes). During the escape experience, your team would have opportunities to choose member(s) to leave the group and enter the “bonus room” to solve puzzles as well as add bonus time. With the bonus time, the escape room is 75 minutes long.

I believe that this room is much more difficult than their first two rooms, Chapter 1: Occam’s Apartment and Chapter 2: Norcross Art Gallery. This room is not recommended for newbies or small groups due puzzle difficulty and how members are separated from the group.

Puzzles

For an experienced escape room team, the puzzles are not difficult. I found the puzzles to be a “breath of fresh air” because of how creative they were. Many of the puzzles were fresh takes on puzzles I’ve seen before. My group and I enjoyed how the puzzles weren’t too hard, however, I believe it would difficult if it was our first escape room experience. The hint system was also enjoyable to see executed.

Immersion

We were in a morgue. It was creepy. There was live actor. Amber and I did not cry. The room was well-built. There were ~2 technological errors, however, it did not take away from how amazing this escape room was. The highlight of this escape room was the use of the bonus room. I volunteered as tribute several times and I didn’t regret going in there. If you’re feeling brave, do it!

Value

Definitely worth the money. My group and I agreed that this escape room was nothing like we every experienced.

Should you play it?

YES! Go into the bonus room, please.
